Nathan, this is really intriguing to me. After our house burned down October 14, I picked myself up and started thinking about decorating. The whole new Belgian wave of design is fascinating to me. I’ve been living at the Benjamin Moore store, it seems!
Question: the green blue cabinents…bold move. Were you in charge of that color decision? I love the color b/c it could be used so many different ways.
That is tragic to hear about your home! I hope in the process as rebuilding your home and life you go Belgian crazy!
These were already painted, but the color pallet is great. I paint a lot of trim and wood pieces, in order to create contrast with the walls, furniture and accessories (see http://www.natepostdesign.com). If the wall and trim are the same color, but just a different sheen, placing a mirror in the wall immediately makes it look like a masterpiece.
Have fun, and if you decide you need to hire a designer, I have a suitcase and will travel!!
